Background

Genua was looking for a fully GDPR-compliant conferencing and instant messaging solution that could be accessible on smartphones and didn’t require them to host it. Due to the sensitive nature of their business, it was imperative for Genua to find a tool built on a secure foundation with state-of-the-art end-to-end encryption.

Transparent and Trustworthy

Implementing a platform like Wire that prioritizes protecting digital assets will see security, privacy, and transparency go hand-in-hand. Genua was looking to work with a European vendor they could trust and who could give them complete peace of mind that their data is safe and their digital privacy assured. By having the ability to examine Wire’s source code, Genua could determine precisely how Wire treats data, integrations, encryption key storage, and other potential sources of security risks. Further to that, Wire’s endorsement by the German government provided them with an added layer of trust.

Data Compliance

It was of paramount importance for Genua to choose a fully compliant and secure tool that would not risk leaving their business or reputation compromised. Above and beyond its usability, Wire provided the organization with a GDPR-compliant solution with servers located in the EU while also abiding to Switzerland’s strict data protection laws.

Wire is one of the few on Berlin Data Protection Officer’s list of GDPR-compliant tools, unlike the majority of mainstream platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex who do not comply with GDPR regulations.

Wire helps protect organizations against legal proceedings such as litigation, government investigations, or Freedom of Information Act requests with this service.

Remote Team Collaboration

When Covid-19 abruptly hit in March 2020, Genua was able to quickly shift and support a fully remote workforce while keeping the same level of security they would within the IT-perimeter of their office. Wire’s solution empowered employees to communicate securely from anywhere and on any device of their choice.

Wire supports many platforms, including Android, iOS for tablets and mobile phones with each user authenticated and authorized on every device regardless of their network. Genua’s employees also felt more productive even away from the office – enjoying the convenience of Wire’s messenger on their smartphones.
